Boise, ID - Senior running back Ian Johnson put the finishing touches on Boise State’s undefeated regular season with 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as the ninth-ranked Broncos scored 51 unanswered points to cruise to a 61-10 drubbing of the Fresno State Bulldogs. Kellen Moore passed for 213 yards and two touchdowns on 17-of-23 efficiency for Boise State (12-0, 8-0 WAC), which had already wrapped up its fifth Western Athletic Conference title and remained one of just four Football Bowl Subdivision programs without a loss. Jeremy Avery rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, while Jeremy Childs, Julian Hawkins and Tommy Gallarda each caught a TD in the lopsided victory. The Broncos, whose 13-0 record in 2006 included a thrilling Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma, will likely be on the short end of the stick in terms of making another big-time bowl, as they currently sit No. 9 in the BCS rankings. The Rebels (8-4, 5-3 SEC) have now won five straight since bowing to South Carolina and Alabama in back-to-back games by a total of just 11 points. Ole Miss back Dexter McCluster gained 68 yards and scored once on nine carries. Shay Hodge contributed seven catches for 89 yards with a score and Mike Wallace had two touchdowns on four receptions and 105 yards. The Bulldogs (4-8, 2-6) finished with minus-51 yards rushing thanks to 10 Ole Miss sacks, and had just 88 yards through the air. Ole Miss outgained Mississippi State 461-37.

Toronto, ON - Chris Bosh arrived later than usual to the arena thanks to an elevator issue, but then had a great all-around effort with 30 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, helping Toronto to a 93-88 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Bosh said he got stuck for about an hour on an elevator inside his condominium building and didn’t get to Air Canada Centre until about 45 minutes before tip-off. He went 13-of-26 from the field, though, and carried the Raptors to their second straight victory for the first time since the team won three in a row to start the season. Jason Kapono added 16 points and drilled two big free throws in the final seconds for Toronto. Joey Graham scored 11 and Jamario Moon 10 for the Raptors, who also got 11 assists from Jose Calderon. Mike Bibby scored 24 for Atlanta, losers in six of their last nine games. Joe Johnson tallied 18 points and seven assists, while Maurice Evans scored 17. Al Horford chipped in 10 points and eight boards, while Marvin Williams ended with 10 points and seven boards as the Hawks lost their fifth straight road game.

Augustin netted 17, while Gerald Wallace totaled 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for the Bobcats. Danny Granger scored 35 for Indiana, which also got 20 points apiece from T.J. Ford and Marquis Daniels. Ford also had eight rebounds and six assists, but the Pacers lost for the sixth time in eight games.

Oklahoma City, OK - Mike Miller hit the game-winning jumper with 0.1 seconds left, as the Minnesota Timberwolves edged Oklahoma City, 105-103, sending the Thunder franchise to its record-tying 14th consecutive loss. Miller finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the T-Wolves, who are only 4-10 this season. Craig Smith ended with 23 points and Al Jefferson 19 for Minnesota. Kevin Durant and Jeff Green scored 22 points apiece for the Thunder, who fell to 1-16 on the season. The franchise also lost 14 in a row from February 3-March 5, 1996, when it was located in Seattle. The game featured the key ingredients to last season’s mid-season trade between the clubs. Los Angeles, CA - Kobe Bryant scored 13 of his season-high 35 points in the fourth quarter, guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to a 114-107 comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. Bryant finished 14-of-26 from the field, and Andrew Bynum tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who won their sixth straight game and improved to an NBA-best 13-1. It’s the best start for the Lakers since winning 16 of their first 17 to begin the 2001-02 campaign. Derek Fisher scored 19 and Trevor Ariza 15 for the Lakers, who went on a 17-0 run bridging the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth. Newark, NJ - Sam Young scored 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds to pace fourth-ranked Pittsburgh to an 80-67 triumph over Texas Tech in semifinal action of the Legends Classic at the Prudential Center. DeJuan Blair tallied 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Panthers (6-0), who advanced to play Washington State in the championship game on Saturday. The Cougars beat Mississippi State, 63-52, in the other semifinal. Gilbert Brown ended with 10 points and eight rebounds for Pittsburgh, which led by 10 at the half and then shot 51.5 percent over the final 20 minutes. The Panthers also held a decided 49-31 advantage in rebounds. Trevor Cook had 24 points and five rebounds for the Red Raiders (5-1), who also got 15 points from Mike Singletary. Alan Voskuil scored nine to go with eight rebounds.

Patrick Dwyer scored his first NHL goal and Tuomo Ruutu also tallied in regulation for the Hurricanes, who rebounded from a 3-1 setback to Philadelphia on Wednesday at the RBC Center in Raleigh. Carolina snapped a three-game losing skid with the win. Cam Ward was sharp between the pipes, stopping 24 of 26 shots for the `Canes. Jeff Carter and Joffrey Lupul each had a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who had their six-game winning streak halted. Martin Biron made 27 saves in defeat.

Zherdev, Aaron Voros and Dan Fritsche each scored in regulation for the Rangers, who have won three straight and six of eight. It was the second straight game in which Zherdev found shootout success, as he scored the game-clincher in New York’s 3-2 win over Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Detroit, MI - Marian Hossa’s second goal of the game came with two minutes left to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Joe Louis Arena. With time winding down in the third period, Detroit took a 4-3 lead. A left circle faceoff draw was won by Pavel Datsyuk. The puck went to the right side where Hossa poked it forward, then kicked the puck from his skate to his stick and swept a shot from the low left side past Pascal Leclaire with two minutes left. From there the Red Wings held off the Blue Jackets and Kris Draper’s empty-netter sealed the victory. Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and an assist while Jiri Hudler also lit the lamp for the Red Wings, who snapped a two-game slide. Chris Osgood made 13 stops and gave up a goal on a slap shot from mid-ice. However, he made enough saves to record the 372nd win of his career and tie Andy Moog for 13th all-time. Fedor Tyutin scored twice while Jakub Voracek added the other marker for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped four of their last five games. Leclaire made 30 saves in the defeat.

Dallas, TX - Dan Boyle scored twice and Ryane Clowe recorded three assists, as the red-hot San Jose Sharks stomped the Dallas Stars, 6-2, in a Pacific Division clash at the American Airlines Center. Joe Pavelski had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who have won six games in a row and lead the NHL with 39 points. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 25 shots, while Devin Setoguchi and Joe Thornton both registered two assists. Patrick Marleau added a helper and, like Setoguchi and Thornton, is riding a seven-game point streak. Setoguchi has five goals and eight assists; Thornton has posted four goals and nine assists; and Marleau has four goals and six assists over his run. Loui Eriksson and James Neal lit the lamp for Dallas, which has yet to win consecutive games this season. Marty Turco gave up five goals on 19 shots before he was yanked at the beginning of the third period. Tobias Stephan made 10 saves the rest of the way.
