Canucks improve to 6-0-2 in last 8 games (AP)

Two players made triumphant returns and the Vancouver Canucks picked up two more points. Daniel Sedin scored the winner midway through the third period in the Canucks’ 3-2 victory over the Minnesota on Thursday night. Ducks D Beauchemin has knee surgery (AP)
Anaheim Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin underwent surgery Thursday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He is expected to be sidelined about six months. Beauchemin was injured during a 4-3 overtime loss to Nashville on Nov. 14. He will be placed on long-term injured reserve.

Flames’ Kiprusoff beats Avalanche 1-0 (AP)

Miikka Kiprusoff and the Calgary Flames are having a lot of fun at the Colorado Avalanche’s expense. Kiprusoff made 18 saves for his second shutout of the season, and Daymond Langkow scored his fifth goal in Calgary’s 1-0 victory over Colorado on Thursday night.
