Indianapolis, IN - Rasheed Wallace dropped in 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons hung on to beat the Indiana Pacers, 110-104, in a Central Division battle at Conseco Fieldhouse. Tayshaun Prince contributed 17 points for the division-leading Pistons, who saw six scorers finish in double-figures. Richard Hamilton added 15 points, while Chauncey Billups and Jarvis Hayes each tallied 13 points. Detroit has emerged victorious in three consecutive contests, improving to 17-9 on the road. Antonio McDyess chipped in with 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Pistons are a perfect 3-0 against the Pacers this season, and have won five in a row and eight of the last 10 in the series. Mike Dunleavy poured in a game-high 25 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists for Indiana, which is riding a four-game skid. Troy Murphy and Travis Diener each scored 18, and Danny Granger finished with 16 points. The Pacers have dropped three straight at home, slipping to 9-11 as the host. Washington, DC - Antawn Jamison scored 24 points, including the overtime tip-in that sealed the victory, to lead Washington past Toronto, 108-104, in overtime at the Verizon Center. Jamison also had 20 rebounds to earn his 26th double-double of the season, as the Wizards have alternated wins and losses for the last five contests. DeShawn Stevenson poured in 20 points, while Andray Blatche added 19 points and eight boards. Antonio Daniels had 15 points in the win. Chris Bosh scored a game-high 37 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Toronto, which snapped a two-game win streak and lost two of four overall. Jose Calderon contributed 23 points and dished out 13 assists, while Kris Humphries tallied 16 points. Caron Butler did not play for Washington and is unlikely to play tomorrow. He suffered a hip flexor in the team’s 105-102 overtime loss to Milwaukee on Sunday.

Miami, FL - Leon Powe scored a career-high 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as a short-handed Boston team trounced Miami,117-87, at AmericanAirlines Arena. The Celtics were without All-Star forward Kevin Garnett, who missed his second straight game due to a strained abdominal muscle, and star guard Ray Allen, who was down with flu-like symptoms. The absences meant little as Boston dominated from the opening tip. Rajon Rondo matched a career-high 23 points and added six boards for the Celtics, who are an NBA best 35-8 and bounced back from a 96-93 setback at Orlando, where Hedo Turkoglu’s three-pointer at the buzzer proved to be the difference. Tony Allen and Eddie House both chipped in with 20 points apiece. Mark Blount had 20 points for the woeful Heat, who finished a seven-game homestand at 1-6 and have lost 16 of their past 17 contests. Luke Jackson finished with 14 points off the bench, while Dwyane Wade has a season-low seven points on 1-of-9 shooting.

East Rutherford, NJ - Richard Jefferson scored 20 points and Vince Carter added 16 and 12 rebounds, as New Jersey snapped a season-worst nine-game skid with a 87-80 victory over Milwaukee at the Izod Center. Jason Kidd, who had been part of a firestorm into Tuesday afternoon with a reported demand to be traded, scored just nine points and made just one field goal for New Jersey, which hadn’t won since a home victory over Seattle on January 9. The point guard didn’t let his shooting struggles affect other portions of his game, as he grabbed five rebounds and dished out 11 assists. Bostjan Nachbar donated 14 points off the bench in the victory. Royal Ivey led the way with 19 points, while Maurice Williams and Bobby Simmons added 14 apiece for Milwaukee, which had trouble putting the ball in the basket with leading scorer Michael Redd sitting out with a left knee strain. Charlie Villanueva did return after battling a lower back strain, but he scored just four points in limited minutes. Milwaukee has split its last four contests.

Chicago, IL - Kirk Hinrich scored a game-high 27 points and dished out six assists to lead the Chicago Bulls past the Minnesota Timberwolves, 96-85, at the United Center. Andres Nocioni chipped in 18 points for the Bulls, who snapped a two-game skid and won for only the second time in their last five contests. Viktor Khryapa scored 11 points, while Thabo Sefolosha had 10 points. Joakim Noah, who started in place of Joe Smith (flu), dropped 10 points and pulled down 13 boards in the win. Al Jefferson scored 20 points and grabbed 12 boards for Minnesota, which dropped its second game in the last three contests. Rashad McCants tallied 16 points, while Marko Jaric contributed 14 points and doled out five assists. Minnesota’s Randy Foye scored 11 points in his first game of the season (knee).

Houston, TX - Yao Ming tied a season high with 36 points and 19 rebounds, as Houston overcame the absence of Tracy McGrady to fend off the Golden State Warriors, 111-107, at the Toyota Center. Yao scored the final nine points to carry the load for Houston, which has won five of six. Luther Head had 20 points and six assists in a winning effort, while Rafer Alston posted a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists. McGrady was sidelined with flu-like symptoms. He is listed as day-to-day. Stephen Jackson dropped in 25 points and Baron Davis donated 21 for the Warriors, who had won seven of nine coming in.

Phoenix, AZ - Amare Stoudemire scored 22 of his 24 points in the first half as the Phoenix Suns routed the Atlanta Hawks 125-92 at US Airways Center. Stoudemire shot 10-of-11 from the field and played just eight minutes in the second half for the Suns, who easily picked up their season-high sixth consecutive win at home. Shawn Marion added 19 points, while Boris Diaw and Grant Hill had 16 apiece for Phoenix, which shot a season-high 64.2 percent. Leandro Barbosa donated 13 points and Steve Nash finished with 10 points and 10 assists in the win. Marvin Williams scored 18 points and Josh Childress added 17 for the Hawks, who have lost six of seven. Former Sun Joe Johnson, who leads the Hawks in scoring (21.6), was held to nine points on 3-of-14 shooting.

Seattle, WA - Kevin Durant stepped into the spotlight with the go-ahead jumper with 32.6 seconds to go, and Luke Ridnour added a pair of free throws later, as Seattle snapped a 14-game losing streak with an 88-85 victory over San Antonio. Durant’s final two points proved huge for the SuperSonics, who won for the first time in 2008. The Texas product scored 26 points with seven rebounds and five assists, Chris Wilcox scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Nick Collison joined the double-double club with 14 points and 10 boards. Wilcox’s turnaround jumper with 55.8 ticks to go found nothing but net, giving Seattle an 84-82 lead. Manu Ginobili answered with a three off a high ball screen to push the Spurs back on top. Ginobili, pushed into the starting lineup with Tony Parker sitting this one out thanks to a nagging bone spur, led the way with 29 points and Tim Duncan totaled 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Los Angeles, CA - Sasha Vujacic scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as Los Angeles outlasted New York, 120-109, at the Staples Center. Kobe Bryant added 24 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for the Lakers, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Lamar Odom chipped in with 22 points and 12 boards. Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson both had 22 points for the Knicks, who have dropped three of four games. David Lee finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Zach Randolph had 16 points and 14 boards.
