Charlotte, NC - Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol again carried the scoring load, scoring 31 and 26 points respectively, as the Los Angeles Lakers rolled to a 106-97 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. Jordan Farmar and Ronny Turiaf each chipped in with 10 points for the Lakers, winners in three straight. Lamar Odom added eight points and 10 rebounds, while Gasol contributed six rebounds and six assists to his point total. Raymond Felton poured in a season-best 29 points to go along with eight assists and Nazr Mohammed added a season-high 22 points with 11 rebounds in a losing effort for Charlotte, which has dropped seven straight and five in a row at home.

Orlando, FL - Larry Hughes scored a season-high 40 points, including 23 in the third quarter, to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Orlando Magic, 118-111, at Amway Arena. LeBron James finished with 29 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds for Cleveland, which has won two of three. Devin Brown had 11 points off the bench, while Drew Gooden and Ira Newble each chipped in 10. Hedo Turkoglu had 25 points, while Jameer Nelson had 22 points. Dwight Howard finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for Orlando, which has dropped two in a row in the midst of a five- game homestand.

Philadelphia, PA - Andre Miller scored 21 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to their fourth straight win, 84-76, over an undermanned Dallas Mavericks squad at the Wachovia Center. Andre Iguodala had 14 points and four assists and Lou Williams came off the bench to contribute 11 points and five assists, as the Sixers used a superior defensive effort to stifle a Dallas team that shot just 35 percent from the floor. Philadelphia held the Mavs to just 23 second-half points, the lowest offensive output by an opponent in one half this season. The four-game win streak equals a season best for the Sixers, who ran off four consecutive wins from December 7-12. Josh Howard led Dallas with 17 points and six rebounds, while Dirk Nowitzki finished with 15 and nine on a night when he made just 4-of-15 field goal attempts. The Mavs, playing without starting point guard Devin Harris (left ankle bone bruise), center Erick Dampier (sprained right ankle) and key reserve Jerry Stackhouse (strained right hamstring), committed 14 turnovers en route to a second straight loss on their two-game East Coast swing.

Toronto, ON - Manu Ginobili scored a game-high 34 points and pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs held off the Toronto Raptors, 93-88, at the Air Canada Centre. Tim Duncan scored 22 points and grabbed 13 boards for his 30th double-double of the season. Michael Finley pitched in with 12 points off the bench, which included a pair of free throws to clinch the game for the Spurs. San Antonio is now 5-3 on its current nine game road trip. Jose Calderon scored a career-high 27 points and dished out six assists in the losing effort. Chris Bosh was held in check with just 11 points and eight rebounds. Toronto is now 3-9 all-time at home versus San Antonio. Additionally, it was announced Monday that Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell is taking a leave of absence so that he can fly home to Atlanta following the death of his father-in-law. Mitchell may rejoin the team for Wednesday’s game against New Jersey, but will definitely return after the All-Star break. Assistant coach Mike Evans served as head coach for Monday’s game.

Milwaukee, WI - Al Thornton led four Los Angeles players in double-figures with 25 points, as the Clippers held off the Milwaukee Bucks, 96-89, at the Bradley Center. Sam Cassell had 21 points and eight assists, while Corey Maggette had 20 points — including the final four — for the Clippers, who have won three of five. Cuttino Mobley had 12 points off the bench for Los Angeles, which wrapped up a seven-game road trip with a 3-4 record. Mo Williams had a game-high 31 points, and Michael Redd finished with 11 points and 11 assists for Milwaukee, which has lost three in a row and six of seven. Andrew Bogut had 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Desmond Mason had 14 points.

Houston, TX - Yao Ming had 25 points and seven rebounds and the Houston Rockets dominated the second half en route to winning their seventh straight, 95-83, over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Toyota Center. Yao made seven of his 11 field-goal attempts and was a solid 11-for-13 from the free-throw line, as Houston outscored Portland 51-40 in the final 24 minutes. Rafer Alston had 17 points and seven assists, and Tracy McGrady added 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. Luis Scola and Shane Battier contributed 11 points apiece for Houston, which shot 48.5 percent from the floor as a team, and has not lost since a 97-89 setback to Utah on January 27. LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and five boards to pace Portland, which has now dropped three straight and four of five overall. Brandon Roy struggled from the field (5-for-13 shooting), but still totaled 15 points and eight assists.

Oakland, CA - Stephen Jackson’s unconventional four-point play led an unconventional road back from 23 points down, as Golden State rallied to stun Washington, 120-117, at ORACLE Arena. Jackson scored a season- high 41 points — one off his career-best scoring night –, Ellis added 22 and Al Harrington tallied 21 off the bench for the Warriors, winners in two straight and four of their last five overall. Mason poured in a career-high 32 points with six assists, Antawn Jamison added 25 points and 10 rebounds and Brendan Haywood notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Wizards, who dropped their eighth consecutive contest.
