Milwaukee, WI  - Mike Green scored 24 points, 10 of which came in overtime, pulled down 13 rebounds and doled out eight assists to lead the ninth-ranked Butler Bulldogs past the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers, 83-75.

Willie Veasley and Pete Campbell contributed 12 points apiece for Butler (22-2, 11-2 Horizon League), which has rattled off six wins in a row. A.J. Graves added 11 points.

Marcus Skinner poured in a game-high 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Panthers (12-11, 7-6), who have dropped three contests in a row. Allan Hanson gave 18 points and Paige Paulsen provided 11. Ricky Franklin had five points, six boards and five assists in defeat.

Campbell made a three-pointer to give Butler a 70-67 advantage with 4:16 left in overtime.

The Panthers stayed within three, until Graves hit a pair from the line to put the Bulldogs up five, 74-69, with just over three minutes to play.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee was then forced to foul, and did not get closer than four points the rest of the way, as Butler pulled away and escaped U.S. Cellular Arena with the victory.

Midway through the second half, the Bulldogs knotted up the game at 51 via a 9-2 spurt. Campbell’s bucket proved to be the eqaulizer with 8:23 remaining.

A Roberts free throw and Skinner dunk, followed by a three-point play from the latter, put the Panthers up 64-58 with 2:55 left to play.

Two Veasley free throws and two from Green pulled Butler within two points, and when UWM could not capitalize on its next possession, a Campbell three put the Bulldogs up 65-64 with just under a minute left.

The Panthers again could not connect on the ensuing possession, and Paulsen was forced to foul Green, who hit both shots from the stripe for a three-point lead with 5.3 seconds on the clock.

With UWM down to its last shot, Franklin brought the ball upcourt, dribbled into double coverage and drained a three-pointer as time expired to send the game into overtime.

The Panthers surprised the Bulldogs early by taking a 15-3 lead on a Paulsen layup almost four minutes into the game.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee held a double-digit lead for the better part of the first half, until Zach Hahn hit back-to-back three-pointers. The buckets from beyond the arc sparked a 12-0 Butler run that gave the Bulldogs a 29-27 lead with 2:25 left in the half.

UWM eventually took a 32-29 lead into its locker room at the break.

The Panthers opened a five-point lead, 38-33, after Skinner landed a dunk and Hanson drained a three-pointer just over 2 1/2 minutes into the new half.

Butler pulled within two points, but two Paulsen free throws and a Hanson three gave Wisconsin-Milwaukee a 49-42 cushion with 13:10 showing on the clock.

Butler hit 25-of-33 from the foul line, whereas Wisconsin-Milwaukee made 17- of-28 from the stripe…The Panthers committed 15 turnovers to the Bulldogs’ seven.
