Redskins’ Taylor shot in Florida home

Sean Taylor was shot in the groin by an intruder in his home.
Miami, FL - Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor was injured in a shooting incident at his home in Miami early Monday morning.
The Miami Herald reported that Taylor was shot and wounded by an intruder and the Redskins confirmed the safety was shot.
“The Washington Redskins became aware of a situation this morning in which safety Sean Taylor was the victim of a shooting at his residence in Florida,” the Redskins’ statement read. “Taylor is currently undergoing treatment at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida.”
Miami-Dade patrol officers received a call about 1:45 a.m. (et) Monday that a homeowner had been shot in the leg. Paramedics responded and found Taylor with a gunshot wound to the groin.
Taylor leads the Redskins with five interceptions but has missed the team’s previous two games with a knee injury.
