New York, NY  - Veteran closer Mariano Rivera is reportedly headed back to the New York Yankees. According to the New York Post, the future Hall of Famer will likely accept New York’s three-year, $45 million offer as early as this upcoming week despite wanting a reported fourth year included in the deal.

Rivera, who has pitched his entire 13-year career in the Bronx, notched 30 saves in 34 opportunities last season to go along with a 3.15 earned run average in 67 games.

The 38-year-old has compiled 443 regular-season saves with the Yankees and has been dominant come October. In postseason action, Rivera is 8-1 with 34 saves and a sparkling 0.77 ERA.

With AL MVP candidate Alex Rodriguez and veteran catcher Jorge Posada also likely set to return, Rivera would be the third key member of the club to come back to the Yankees this offseason.
