Philadelphia’s top defense pair could be reunited as early as Sunday for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals in Pittsburgh. Coburn seemed close to returning Thursday night for the Flyers’ 4-2 home win, but needed more time to heal from facial injuries that caused his left eye to swell shut.

GM Martin reaches deal with Panthers
Jacques Martin has reached an agreement to remain with the Florida Panthers as general manager through the 2011-12 season, the team said Friday. Martin was stripped of his duties as head coach last month but said he would stay on as general manager. He said then the two jobs were too much for one person. He became coach in 2004 and took over as general manager in 2006, replacing Mike Keenan.
