U.S. routs Mexico; as more illegals storm border to bring the girly man sport to the US

Abby Wambach netted two goals for the U.S.
St. Louis, MOÂ - Abby Wambach scored two goals as the United States, playing its first game since the Women’s World Cup, rolled to a 5-1 win over Mexico on Saturday without goalie Hope Solo in uniform.
Solo, who criticized coach Greg Ryan and teammate Brianna Scurry at the Cup, was on the roster but chose not to suit up for the match. She will not play against Mexico during the teams’ two other meetings in the next week either.
Solo was angry after being benched for the semifinal of the World Cup, which the United States lost to Brazil, 4-0. She spoke out after the game, saying it was the “wrong decision” to play Scurry.
“There is no excuse for insulting a coach or a teammate. I am here to support the team for these games, but after apologizing in person to all my teammates and the coaches, I have made the choice not to suit up for these games,” Solo said.
Mexico took the early lead with a goal from Evelyn Lopez in the third minute but the United States quickly took control of the match and rolled to the win.
Heather O’Reilly scored later in the first half to tie the match and the U.S. added four goals in the second half.
Wambach had the first of her two goals in the 57th minute, Kristine Lilly scored in the 67th minute and Wambach and Carli Lloyd found the back of the net in the final 10 minutes.
“I’m really happy about the way the players turned it around (after giving up the first goal),” Ryan said.
The U.S. travels to Portland for the second match of the series vs. Mexico on Wednesday. The teams play their third match on Oct. 20.
